Face Lift Without Surgery

Posted by | Posted in Beauty tips | Posted on 27-02-2010

YOU DON’T HAVE TO SPEND A FORTUNE BE YOUNG LOOKING!
As we age facial muscles weaken, and skin begins to sag. But just as gym workouts can promote the body’s youthful strength and suppleness, facial exercise – based on the same principles of dynamic resistance – can strengthen facial muscles. If sagging muscles in your face chin and neck are aging you beyond your years there is a way to reverse the process and make you look healthier, more vibrant, younger.
Facial exercise can transform your looks without cosmetic surgery. One thing facial exercises won’t do is cause wrinkles, but some people think they do. This is absolutely wrong. Properly done facial exercise most certainly does not cause wrinkles.
In fact, exercising the face helps to make women and men look younger for longer, by toning and tightening the facial muscles, just like toning the muscles of the body firms them up.
But, don’t make the mistake of thinking that all facial exercise programs are the same. Expensive devices will not give you better results. Electrodes are very hard to position properly and can be painful if you have sensitive skin.
Sagging, bagging and deep hanging folds in older looking faces are, caused by lack of facial tone. Exercising the muscles in your face is crucial to maintaining a young appearance. Beauty treatments with creams can’t lift sagging muscles.
Surgical facelifts can be costly, painful and sometimes dangerous. Give your face a structured work out and you’ll reap the benefits for all the years to come. Our program includes deep breathing to enhance your exercises. The deep breathing will not only bring extra oxygen to your facial muscles, but to your whole body. Oxygen is the key to these exercises.
Some surgeons even give facial exercises to their patients after their face-lift. Why not, just skip the surgeon and do the exercise? A good facial exercise program lifts and tones the facial muscles. My program comes with a guarantee, and I have yet to refund any money.

Home Based Remedy For Angina

Posted by | Posted in Beauty tips | Posted on 27-02-2010

Angina attack is different from heart attack but it seems similar due to its chest-crushing severity. It lasts for about ten minutes. People with angina attacks are the ideal candidates of heart attacks. It is the ideal sign of an impending heart attack. If you have already had an angina attack you might have been prescribed some medications. But you can also follow the tips given below to get immediate relief:

• Go vegetarian: If your diet is high in meat, butter and other dairy products along with fried foods, then rest assured that your cholesterol levels in the blood are at the highest. You can easily lower this by following a vegetarian diet. Skip all the animal products except skim milk, egg whites and nonfat yogurt. People who have opted for this diet found the severity and frequency of their angina pain reducing. Vegetarian diet prevents angina pain and keeps arteries clean because only the animal products like meat, milk egg yolks and other animal products are rich in cholesterol. They also have plenty of saturated fats that the body converts to cholesterol.

• Choose lean and light meat: But if you are an avid non-vegetarian eater, opt for lean meat, fish and poultry and limit your intake to less than six ounces per day. Choose cuts that are lean and stripped of all visible fats. Omit all the organ meats like liver, kidney and heart from your diet. Remove the skin from poultry before cooking.

• Increase your antioxidants: Vitamins A, C and E are the antioxidants that have been shown to prevent or control angina pain. Vegetarian diet is rich in these antioxidants. When your diet is rich in fruits, vegetables and grains, you can be rest assured that your body gets all the required nutrients.
• Take aspirin: Taking a regular dose of aspirin as recommended by the doctor can reduce heart attack risk. One small baby aspirin daily has helped patients with unstable angina, which is what happens when you are resting or sleeping. Aspirin prevents the formation of blood clots. Formation of clots prevents blood from flowing easily though the arteries and that can lead to heart attacks. But get your doctor’s approval before starting your aspirin dose. This is because you can experience some side effects like internal bleeding and it could interact with other medications that you are taking.

• Go for regular workout: If you exercise intensely, there are chances that you might experience angina pain. But still workout regularly. Exercise helps in improving the blood flow to the heart and also relieves stress that can trigger angina attacks. If you are an angina patient, you might experience pain when you increase your exercise levels. The solution is that you exercise till you start feeling the pain, then stop until the pain subsides and then continue. You can take nitroglycerin pills to ease the pain. But in the long run, an exercise regimen will improve exercise tolerance and the angina pain occurring only when your exercise stress goes up.
• Take precautions: Angina patients need to follow certain precautions. Avoid inhaling carbon dioxide, which can trigger angina attacks, so run in an area away from traffic. If you live in the city, exercise indoors. Exercising in bitter cold can trigger angina attacks so cover your face with a scarf.
• Raise your head: If you have angina attacks at night, raise your head off the bed three or four inches to reduce the number of attacks. When you sleep in this position, more blood pools into your legs so that no blood returns to the heart’s narrowed arteries. This may also reduce the need of taking nitroglycerin. But always consult your doctor before stopping or reducing any medication.

• Keep feet down: If you do not get angina attacks at night, the other alternative is to sit on the edge of the bed with feet on the floor. This has the same effect as taking nitroglycerin. But if the symptoms do not subside, take medications.

• Relax for some time: Going in for some daily relaxation technique like yoga, meditation, stretching or visualization. The method of relaxation is not that important than doing it daily.

How To Remove Your Acne

Posted by | Posted in Beauty tips | Posted on 16-01-2010

Acne is an inevitable experience for most teenagers. It’s a universal enemy of most young adults and ironically a result of growing from child to adult. While it’s not entirely avoidable, there are ways to reduce one’s acne.
Dermatologists worldwide have been battling acne for years – most of them are consulted after the acne has started. And what they contribute is great expertise, medications, tips on good hygiene, and emotional support that confirms that some acne is a normal part of life. None of this helps the self-esteem or confidence of the teenager who consistently deals with a face in the mirror they don’t like. So consider some additional ways to limit the affect of acne in your life. Primarily, take care of your body. What type of food are you eating? How much sleep do you get? Do you wash with a hypoallergenic soap? These considerations are important ones. Food, for example, plays a big part in acne. Consult your dermatologist or online guide for more tips but be aware that fruits and vegetables are great for more than just healthy bones and teeth – they also lead to healthy skin. Similarly, watch your intake of sugar and manufactured products with heavy oil or fat.
Another preventative measure is to review and sample Proactiv, Clearasil, and other acne prevention or removal products and see if any of them work for you. Depending on your skin type, the type of acne you have, or how your body responds to different forms of medication, these products may have a selective benefit for you.
Finally, take care of your insides. No matter what effect acne has on your outside appearance during your teen years, only you can determine how you feel about your appearance and your looks. I’m not trying to minimize the emotional affect of acne, especially if some of the scars are permanent, but appearance alone is still only one factor that contributes to one’s confidence and ultimately their enjoyment of and success in life. If you can regularly look in the mirror and say “I like myself” or “I like who I’m becoming”, acne will never determine your sense of self. Do your best to prevent or reduce acne’s affect on your physical appearance, and don’t forget to take care of your inner self as well.

Laser Hair Removal: Hair Raising Experience

Posted by | Posted in Beauty tips | Posted on 11-01-2010

I can tell you lasers are safe and effective in the removal of unwanted hair.  A trained specialist can help you determine what treatment is best for you using your skin and hair type.  With lasers you don’t have to worry about shaving, tweeting, or waxing now and forever.  Forever sounds like a long time, doesn’t it? Lasers produce a beam of light that is used to remove hair.  The light passes through the skin to the hair follicle.  Once it gets to the hair it basically kills it.  Neat, huh?  The process only takes less than an hour.
Lasers are attracted to dark colors.  You’ll get the best results if your hair is darker than your complexion.  You’re wondering if the laser has any side effects.  It does if you have a tan.  Tanning and lasering leads to burning.  Ouch, it really hurts so you’ll want to beware of adding the two in combo.  Also, it’s important to note that the laser doesn’t do a thing for blonds, white or gray haired people.
If you’re not ready to give lasers a shot, then there are several other techniques on the market that can help you get rid of your hair-raising problem.  Let’s talk about the only permanent hair removal known to man right now.  It’s called electrolysis.  If you’re scared of needles, then this is not the treatment for you. You’ll want to make sure that you have not waxed or twee zed within a few days of having a treatment.  This makes the hair follicle easier for the electrologist to reach.
The electrologist inserts a tiny needle into each hair follicle and uses a short impulse of energy to kill the root.  Sounds, cool, huh?  The hair is tweezed out one at a time.  Sounds like an awfully long process.  However, it only takes a few hours.  You will most likely need more than one treatment to kill all of your hair.   There are electrolysis kits that you can use at home, but I wouldn’t recommend it.  You’re better off using a licensed electrologist.
Speaking of problems, what’s yours?  Everyone has a specific area of the body where they want to be bald.  Women usually hate facial hair on their upper lips, chin and sides of face.  Hairs in those areas don’t seem to bother men that much!  Okay, I shouldn’t joke about it!  Hair on the lip is very troubling to most women.  It can be removed using a bleaching procedure.
Bleaching works if your hair is similar in color to your skin.   Be careful, bleaching lightens hair in dark complexions.   I’ll never forget someone with a dark complexion once asked me if she could use a depilatory creams on the lip.  No way, don’t even think!  My response was fast and furious. Depilatories are harsh on sensitive skin and should never be placed on the lips or eyes areas.
The important thing to remember about depilatories is you should use them on the legs and thighs only.  Depilatory creams dissolve the keratin in hair.  As you can imagine that’s some pretty strong stuff!   Be sure to test patches of skin before you put the cream on.  The cream can cause rashes and skin discolorations. It is possible to treat a negative reaction with an anti-bacterial solution and antibiotic.
Waxing on the other hand is a great way to remove hair from the legs and thighs and bikini area. Your skin will feel so clean, smooth and soft after this procedure.  Waxing doesn’t irritate your skin the way shaving and creams do.  However, waxing is a temporary hair removal procedure.  Waxing is similar to the sugaring procedure that is also temporary.
Sugaring is becoming more popular for people who want to be hairless in the bikini area.  The sugar is warmed not at all like the high heat that’s used in waxing.  The warmed sugar is placed on the skin.  Your technician will then remove the sugar with muslin strips.  The sugar sticks mostly to the hair and not the skin.  That makes it easier when it’s time to remove the hair.  I highly recommend sugaring because the red bumps and other skin irritations are minimized with it.
You’re daring, right?  You want a bikini wax, but you want it all over.  Then, you’ll have to try what is called a Brazilian bikini wax.  Have you ever been to Brazil?  The natives are not at all ashamed of their bodies.  The Brazilian wax removes hair all over the pubic area including the labia and buttocks.   You can tell your technician how far to go, or not go.  A patch of hair is sometimes left above the vagina.
Now, the procedure for getting a Brazilian wax is the same just about as with a bikini wax.  You’ll be given a paper thong if you’re a little shy to put on for Brazilian bikini wax.  Your hair will be cut using some scissors.  The wax is then put on using a wooden stick.  Strips of cloth are used to take the hair off.  Tweezers are sometimes used to pick away stray hairs.  Some folk’s say it hurts, others swear it works magic to improve their self-esteem and body image.  You now have choices whether it’s shavers and creams or lasers and wax.  You no longer have to live with a hair-raising experience.  Get rid of it!  The choice is yours.

Winter Skin Care

Posted by | Posted in Beauty tips | Posted on 08-01-2010

The effect of seasonal weather changes, especially during the winter months, can take a significant toll on your skin.  Facial skin ravaged by exposure to the elements can exhibit symptoms of dryness, flaking, itching and even sore, scaly patches.   Taking a proactive approach to caring for your skin during these months will help you avoid the worst impact that winter can have on your skin. Multitude of skin care issues in the e-knowledge modules of the Skin Care e-Learning and Resource Center.
First and foremost, your best defense for winter skin care is protection!  Even during the winter months, you absolutely need to continue to apply SPF 15 or greater sunscreen when outside.  Even though you might think the sun’s effects are diminished during the winter months, nothing could be farther from the truth.  The reflection of the sun off snow and ice can be particularly damaging.  Wearing a scarf that can be easily pulled up to protect the cheeks and bottom portion of your face is also a helpful preventative measure to limit the skin’s exposure to the elements.
Although it may seem contradictory, dry skin benefits tremendously from exfoliation to help eliminate the flaking skin cells, to smooth the skin’s surface and promote cell rejuvenation.  Whether you choose to use a chemical exfoliant such as an AHA product like glycolic acid or a mechanical means such as a facial scrub, incorporating a means of exfoliation into your routine at least a few times a week can dramatically improve dry skin.  And for heavens sakes, don’t use any type of astringents or soap.  They will only dry out the skin more.   Instead, try using a super rich cleanser such as one with a soy or oatmeal ingredient to give your skin a conditioning treatment as you cleanse.
Maintaining the skin’s moisture content during the winter months is also critical.  The skin is typically well hydrated after a warm shower or steaming facial.  Immediately seal in the moisture with a skin cream rich in emollients.  Moisturizers keep the skin conditioned while offering protection against the harsh effects of the cold.  The drier the skin becomes, the more frequently a moisturizer should be applied.
To treat any of those very dry, scaly patches that might develop, use a petroleum based product on the affected areas before bed.  Believe it or not, plain old Vaseline works wonders on stubborn dry, cracked, and flaking skin.  Unfortunately, most people cringe at the idea of using Vaseline on their face, thinking that it will clog pores and, in general, have a negative effect on the skin.  In a word- untrue!  Vaseline and similar petroleum based products provide a protective, insulating barrier for the skin on those frigid, windy days when applied as a light coat to the face and lips.
Finally, for those irritating patches of skin that persistently plague you despite your best efforts, an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment has significant healing effects on skin that is cracked and sore.  For the extremely dry, flaking and itchy spots an OTC hydro cortisone cream can provide both relief from the itching and diminish the dry, flaking symptoms.  Please bear in mind that if your condition persists, it is best to consult with a Physician to find the best remedy for your particular skin condition.
